A IS FOR AFRO JAZZ, AGREEMENTS AND AZONTO

A is for AFRO JAZZ!  Whoot!  Let me just say that I am beyond excited to share Afro Jazz from A to Z with you during the A to Z Blog Challenge.  Many of you may be wondering what this Afro Jazz is all about.  Well for starters, you can read some facts about my Afro Jazz.
It all starts with a side profile picture...

What to expect...

Having expectations can sometimes leave you disappointed.  To avoid sad faces, let's talk about some agreements instead.  And just like that, A is also for agreement.  Here are two:

I agree to share it all when it comes to my process, technique and inspiration for my Afro Jazz Art Series.

I agree to create new Afro Jazz pieces this month and share them with you.

Now you know agreement is a two-way street, right?!  Can you agree to a few things too?

You agree that A is also for appreciation.

You agree to show your appreciation of anything you like here by leaving comments, sharing these posts with friends on Facebook, Twitter and/or Google+, and/or pinning Afro Jazz art on Pinterest.  Let us not forget to "like" on Instagram while we're at it.

As promised, A is also for Azonto...

Azonto is a dance from Ghana, West Africa.  I practiced and practiced the dance before embarking on my maiden voyage to Accra, Ghana in 2013.  When I arrived, I couldn't wait to hit the clubs and dance with the young folks.  Y'all should have seen me.  I was out there representing for the Diaspora!

Watch the video.  It will give you some musical insight into the style of my Afro Jazz art.  The upbeat music translates into the vibrant colors I employ.  The choppy movements are reflected in my choice of collage elements.  Don't believe me?  Just watch!

So, what do you think?  Do you see any other similarities between Azonto and my Afro Jazz?  Are you curious to see what you would look like Afro Jazzed?  I will be taking photo submissions from subscribers only this month.  Become a subscriber today and you will receive more info in our upcoming April newsletter, on how to be the new face of Afro Jazz.  Just think, your face could be selected as the inspiration for my new piece!
