31 DAYS OF ART: THE ART OF DINING IN: REKINDLING AN OLD FLAME

Ever since things ended with us, I often think about the times we shared.  We used to have so much fun together meal planning and grocery shopping.  Now, it just seems like a chore begrudgingly done out of necessity for nourishment.  If I am really honest with myself,  when things got too hard, I bailed and settled for something easy.  Oh the guilt I feel every time I walk into the kitchen, our special place where magic was created on a daily basis.  I have completely settled for something less than majestic.

Chopping and dicing all of those colorful organic ingredients used to send me into a creative culinary tizzy.  Now, it's more of a maelstrom of "meh."

Cereal is the only thing getting me through our break up.  For someone who loves experimenting in the kitchen and just cooking in general, cereal should never be considered a meal.  It's blasphemy in a bowl!

I thought about hiring a chef but the thought of someone else having all the fun in the kitchen just didn't seem appropriate.  I mean, I truly receive platefuls of joy when I cook.  I want to get back together now!  I am ready to start cooking again!

But if we get back together I have some conditions if this "cookingship" is going to work.
  • The meals can't take too long. (Remember what happens when I'm hungry and the meal takes its sweet time to simmer...???  Right!  The cereal affair starts right back up again!)  I'm talking 30 minutes or less in the kitchen for something delicious!
  • I can't be bothered with meal planning and grocery shopping.  It's 2014 and everything is outsourced.  Surely, this can be too.
  • Keep it spicy.  I want variety in this "cookingship."  If that means seeking outside inspiration from other chefs, I'm cool with that.  Really.  I am.
I just found out about Plated.com!  It sounds like thee perfect solution to enjoying The Art of Dining In and starting this "cookingship" off right!  Plated is making their pitch on Shark Tank tonight 9pm EST and they are offering a discount code: SharkPlated30!  Happy dining!
