DAY 1: THE ART OF RELAUNCHING: 3 SIMPLE WAYS TO JUMPSTART A BLOG RELAUNCH

Wow!  Forgive me for leaving you without a dope beat to step to...step to, step to...step to!  Painting and art related projects and ventures have made my schedule pretty rich and productive.  I however, thought now would be a good time to RELAUNCH another installment of 31 Days of Art!

What's all involved with a blog relaunch anyway?  It would seem, all that was required would be an announcement of your declaration to start blogging again.  Well, the Nike "Just Do It" mentally is only part of the game plan.  I found 3 SIMPLE WAYS TO JUMPSTART A BLOG RELAUNCH.

1. Ask yourself, why?

To relaunch my blog, 31at31, I conducted a self inquiry as to why I wanted to do it in the first place.  I remember the immense clarity I had while blogging on a specific topic, art in this case, everyday or close to it.  That clarity evolved into an edifice of self efficacy that I could not ignore.  Others noticed it to.  If for no one else, my blogging made a difference for me.  I mean, I had some of the most insightful self discovery moments ever during my 31 Days of Art.  This type of personal growth and development doesn't happen on accident.  It takes discipline and a real commitment to learning more, going deeper and being your most authentic self.  I loved it and consequently loved myself even more. This discovery was enough for me.  If you find your answer to  be enough motivation to keep the desire to blog alive, then go for it!

2. A new look can signal a fresh perspective.

A relaunch has to look and feel different too.  Just like that time I decided to leave my law job right before receiving a substantial raise. I cut off all of my stressed out strands and rocked a head of baby twists.  Yes, like that only this time it's the blog that's copping a new look.

That's why I decided to go blog template and widget shopping (for free) on Spice Up Your Blog.  They offer many ways to enhance the social factor and aesthetics of your blog with minimal coding knowledge or ability.  Can we say, cut and paste?!  I am still deciding on a few final templates and widgets so come back to 31at31 this week for the big blog makeover.

3. Offer something new!

Finally, I am revamping the newsletter (wait, who I am kidding, I never fully implemented one)...Okay, so I am starting a newsletter or mailing list using Mailchimp and these custom forms from DIY Themes for thee place to go to receive updates on all of the exciting projects I am working on from now until the end of the year.  I will just say that two of the projects are international and of the public art persuasion.  Subscribe to the mailing list for all of the juicy art deets.

That's it for now!  Thank you for your support throughout this time with the inquiries, emails, tweets and stalking!  31 Days of Art is relaunching in three...two...one...

LAUNCH!
