DAY 9: The ART of INTUITION

Day 9: The Art of the day is intuition...

We all have it.  We don't all use or listen to it.  I am not sure why though.  It's like having super powers that you can use for good...in your life.  Brooding over a major decision?  Use your intuition.  Not sure if he or she is a suitable mate for you?  Use your intuition.  Trying to figure out the proper time to ask for that raise?  Use your intuition.

When I was little I could predict when the phone was going to ring.  I would actually hear the ringing in my head and ask my mom why she wasn't picking up the phone.  She would look at me quizzically and reply, "Because it's not...."  Then it would ring and I would go back to playing.

I really didn't think anything of it until my little brother wanted to win a three-tier chocolate cake at the community fair.  We entered the cake walk and began to walk around to the sound of the music.  My brother walked to the beat.  I walked in strategic paces so that I could land on the number just as the music stopped.  We "won" three cakes!  I decided to stop and let chance reward the others.  I knew what the numbers were every time before the music stopped.  I couldn't sense the numbers until the music was playing but as soon as it did I was already eyeing the cake of my choice.

I had many other instances of events like these throughout my childhood including daily deja vu.  I thought I had secret powers that no one else had.

As I got older, my "powers" seemed to weaken because I didn't use them as much.  I thought I had lost them forever.  I now realize that my powers were actually my intuition and we all have and can use it as adults.

Now, my intuition is most perceived through dreams.  If I have misplaced an item, I will have a dream about its location.  My dreams are always vivid and usually have a deeper meaning that I have to decode in order to make sense of it.  I am getting better at just listening and allowing it to guide major decisions.

Like the time I left a job because my intuition was telling me that it no longer aligned and major changes in the office affecting me would take place.  I ignored the little voice for 6 months.  During that time, two key allies in senior positions resigned which left me vulnerable to the aftermath and in the hands of those who did not have my best interest at heart.  Bottom line:  Your intuition is a super power to unleash for an extraordinary adventure in life.
