DAY 12: The ART of ANTICIPATION

Day 12: the Art of the day is anticipation...
(to expect; look forward to; be sure of)

I know it's early.  However, I just discovered where the festivities for the end of phase one of my 31at31 Project will take place!  Stay tuned for details and invites!  The location is perfection!  Here are some hints...:
  • It mixes Art with something Seattle is known for.
  • Independently owned
  • Near a major landmark
  • Creative juices spill everywhere
  • You can enjoy things red, white and brown there.
I had a blast interviewing Debrena with some
well thought out questions...wait until you hear the answers!
To make it interesting, Make a guess in the comments section.  If you guess right, you'll get one high-five at the party and my CD: Illuminating Conversations:  Life, Love and Emotional Healing featuring two-time National Best Selling Author and Speaker, Debrena Jackson Gandy.

I love planning and coordinating events.  It is one of my "motivated talents." I guess I just have a special place in my heart for anything involving events from concept and theme to execution.

The anticipation of the event is like rocket fuel to me.  Just thinking about the details and finishing touches propel me forward in a tizzy of excitement and creativity!  I am convinced that the "intangible substance" of anticipation is a third cousin to imagination.  I say this because, we generate the feelings associated with experiencing the anticipated event and it feels like it is taking place at that very moment.  Doesn't that sound a little like using our imagination?

We don't "make believe" or" play pretend" when engaging in anticipatory actions but we do engage in some shade of it when we use our words to declare something as simple as, "It's going to be so much fun!"  There's no acting out the event yet, we reap all of the emotional benefits as if we showed up in a new outfit, danced all night (Wobble, Wobble), won the door prize (a blinged out ipad 2) and met great people (I know you saw Oprah and Denzel by the chocolate fountain)...

The very act of anticipating allows us to declare the event will be nothing less than epic.  That's a pretty powerful intangible substance that activates even more power when others sit in agreement with you (picture an enthusiastic nod of the head, high fives and/or a well executed chest bump).

The celebration for 31at31 will definitely be just that...epic!  I now declare it to be so and I just happen to be a VISIONARY who frequently soars to the future to bring things back to the present.  Where do you think these butterflies in my stomach came from??!
